On Sunday, October 19, 2025, at approximately 1:36 AM, Healdsburg Police officers observed a white Lexus traveling at an excessive rate of speed on Highway 101. An attempted traffic enforcement stop was initiated. The vehicle initially slowed as if to yield within the City of Healdsburg but then immediately fled, leading officers on a pursuit. The pursuit continued into the unincorporated areas north of Healdsburg, where the vehicle reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour on rural roadways before officers terminated the pursuit for public safety reasons.

Through subsequent follow-up investigation, officers were able to positively identify both the vehicle and a possible suspect involved in the incident.

On the morning of October 21, 2025, officers located the suspect vehicle in the Cloverdale area. Upon contact, officers found a 17-year-old juvenile seated in the vehicle, smoking marijuana. The juvenile attempted to walk away from officers before being taken into custody without further incident. Through their investigation officers determined that the juvenile had been driving the suspect vehicle at the time of the pursuit.

The vehicle was subsequently impounded for 30 days pursuant to a court-issued warrant related to reckless driving and evading a peace officer. The 17-year-old suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of 2800.2 CVC, Reckless Evasion.
