‘Come Together’
A girl named Penny Lane leads an exploration of the magical world of the Beatles, with singing and imaginative dancing from Young at Heart kids between 4-10 years of age. ‘Fosse!’
Another community arts education program presents Fosse! a singing and dancing tribute to choreographer Bob Fosse (Cabaret, Chicago, Damn Yankees). Iranian Cinema
In Gabbeh, Mohsen Makhmalbaf weaves a gorgeous tale very much like the colorful, hand-woven rug, the gabbeh, for which the film is named. A window into a different time and place, this 1966 Iranian film in Farsi screens Thursday Jan. 8 only at The 222, 7pm, with discussion to follow. Climb the Stairs
Up the stairway to the Upstairs Art Gallery until Jan. 25 are Gen Zorich’s “In the Clouds,” and Ron Sumner’s “Colors of Winter.” 11am to 6pm most days; 306 Center St., inside Levin & Co.

Free Elephant Rides
Two free shows at the Elephant this weekend, starting with rockers Whiskey Dent on Friday Jan. 9 at 8pm, then troubadour John Mason on Saturday, again at 8pm. Le Hot Club Swing
The term “Gypsy jazz” originated when the Quintette de Le Hot Club played Paris with violinist Stephane Grappelli and guitarist Django Rhinehardt in the 1930s. David Correa Trio
New World music gets a workout when the guitar duo of David Correa and Tommy Hill hooks up with percussionist Rami Ziaden to play Latin and its favorite flavors (including rhumba and flamenco). Operatic Trio
