GO YOUR OWN WAY Tribute band Fleetwood Macramé strums, shows off and struts their stuff on June 4 in Windsor.

Healdsburg is not the only town in northern Sonoma County with a regular summer music series to offer. Here, we have Tuesdays. Windsor claims Thursdays.

Starting today, June 4, the Summer Nights on the Green concerts will be held every Thursday until Aug. 27. The setup is similar for both series: a farmers’ market from 5-8pm, with farm-fresh produce and food vendors; and live music starting at 6pm. The Summer Nights are presented by the Town of Windsor and the Windsor Farmers’ Market.

First up this week, June 4, is Kenny Metcalf as Elton John, in a full-dress tribute to the early years of the sometimes-flamboyant British performer. Dazzling outfits, stunning vocals and a spectacular backing band complete this phenomenal reproduction that brings the audience on an adventure of both sight and sound.

Next week, June 11, experience the dance-pop band Wonder Bread 5, stylishly performing the latest hits of this week to classic hits from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and beyond.

Other Thursday Summer Nights include the following:

June 18: Pride & Joy SF, celebrating pop/soul music from back in the day till now.

June 25: Local country artist Max Vogel & the Pickups, a high-energy combo showcasing honest storytelling, strong melodies and the kinds of songs that bring people together.

July 9: The youthful Ryan Woodard Band, several members of which are in their teens, perform music for all ages.

July 16: They call themselves Freestone Peaches, instantly recognizable as an Allman Brothers-oriented band from West County.

July 23: Sacred Fire is a dynamic Santana tribute band with the whole deal—horns, percussion, organ and soaring guitar solos.

July 30: Moonalice is the long-lived area band whose forte is psychedelic soul and rock-tinged Americana, fronted by vocalist Lester Chambers.

Aug. 6: None other than Apple Z, a compact band of four-star, quality performers known as “the hardest working band in Sacramento.”

Aug. 13: Best tribute band name ever: Fleetwood Macramé. They’ve got the look, the voices, the music—and they’re still together.

Aug. 20: The band Notorious is, curiously, ranked among the top wedding and event bands by both Martha Stewart Weddings and Modern Bride. Call it out, they can play it.

Aug. 27: Windsor’s summer on the green ends as Healdsburg’s began this year, with a Beatles tribute band. Hey Jude looks the part, too, though it takes a half-dozen snappy dressers to do the work of a quartet.
