Several construction projects currently underway remind people that work at the Healdsburg Unified School District continues, even if there are no students in class.
Fitch Mountain Campus (FMC) will receive some extra attention this summer: The buildings on campus will be painted and the school’s field will receive a much needed, long-awaited renovation.

The FMC field will be upgraded to a regulation U12 synthetic turf soccer field (with cork infill) with surrounding natural grass and landscaping incorporated. The fence will be moved to the perimeter of the field in order to secure it for recess and the school day. And to finish it off, a walking path will be installed with plenty of trees planted around it, providing much-needed shade.
Other projects on the docket for this summer include the installation of a new monument sign and landscaping along the front of the campus at Healdsburg Junior High School, as well as work on the TK/Kinder wing at Healdsburg Elementary School.
“The construction projects use bond dollars the Healdsburg community generously approved in 2016 and 2024,” according to the Healdsburg Unified School District at husd.com.
