Wine Road Trip

The Wine & Food Affair, a signature Sonoma County Wine Road annual event, celebrates local wines and culinary pairings. This is the first day of a two-day, three-valley tour that hits more than 40 wineries, but no one’s keeping score. The recipes are often local-to-the-family at the wineries in Alexander, Russian River and Dry Creek valleys. One- or two-day access may be sold out, see the details at wineroad.com.

Farmers Market

This weekly gathering in the Foley Family Pavilion is becoming a tourist attraction of its own, and for good reason. Squeezed juices and salsita, fresh-baked pastries and loaves, oysters on ice and everything from pigs’ ears to oxtails at the meat shop—to say nothing of seasonal produce.  The Saturday market runs from 8:30am till noon until Dec. 19 at the Community Pavilion, 3 North St. healdsburgfarmersmarket.org.

Upcycling

Parents of students at St. Paul’s Episcopal are holding an “upcycling” event Saturday afternoon, from noon to 4pm, to sell children’s clothing, toys, books and other items that still have plenty of use left in them. Bring a bag, fill it and pay a $20 donation for the lot. Some “dressier” items may be priced separately, and there’s something for everyone. At the Parish Hall, St. Paul’s, 209 Matheson St.

Music at the Trunk

A vocal minority refers to the Elephant in the Room, 177 Healdsburg Ave., as the “trunk,” etymology uncertain. Live music up close on the tight dance floor, it’s a recipe for fun with an affordable cover. For artists, refer to the Calendar at elephantintheroompub.com.

Saturday Jazz

This weekly jazz performance, usually a trio but larger configs are not unknown, is a staple of Healdsburg’s Saturday night, a direct result of the 27-year-old Healdsburg Jazz Festival. No cover, but limited seating. Menu items and drinks from the Spirit Bar, every Saturday from 6-9pm in the lobby of Hotel Healdsburg, 25 Matheson St. Schedule at drycreekkitchen.com/spirit-bar/music.
