Quivira Vineyards will host its annual Hog
Island Oyster Weekend Feb. 14 & 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at
the Healdsburg winery. Hog Island Oyster Company will be shucking
oysters in the cellar all weekend long to help celebrate the new
release of Quivira’s 2002 Sauvignon Blanc, Fig Tree Vineyard.
Visitors are encouraged to come to the Quivira “beach” – wear your
funkiest (but warmest – remember you’ll be in the cellar) beachwear
and receive an additional 5 percent off any bottle of wine. Wine
tasting is free, oysters are $1.50 each, no limit.
Neighbors Lambert Bridge and Everett Ridge
wineries invite their loyal customers at the “Bridge to the Ridge
Event” on February 14 & 15, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both
days. On Saturday, one winery will pair dense chocolate brownies
with their big red wines, while the other offers local Sonoma
County cheeses selected to pair with their wines. On Sunday they
switch, so everybody gets equal time with these special “Sweets and
Savories.”  The event is free. For more information, call the
tasting rooms at Lambert Bridge, 431-9600 ext 10, or Everett Ridge,
433-1637.
