There are more than 30 winners in our Best of Healdsburg Food & Drink awards, as selected by the residents of Healdsburg and the readers of the Tribune. This is our first year for a Best of Healdsburg, and judging by the response to our month-long polling, we have a feeling it won’t be the last.

Naturally, there are winners for Best Business Lunch and Best Outdoor Dining, Best Chef and Best Sommelier, Best Caterer and Best Family Restaurant—those we’d expect. But there are also some awardees whose specialties might be overlooked amidst the glamor of the Plaza, of the five-star hotels and the three-star restaurants.

And it goes without saying that Healdsburg’s voters have strong opinions about the wine!

After all, local wine-making families stretch back to the Old Country, and the heritage is deep here, as shown in the favored status of zinfandel and pinot noir, chardonnay and rosé, and of course a sparkling to tease the palette. And a Best Shipping Company to send it all home.

Whether it’s Best Tasting Room, Best Winemaker or Best Winery Dog, if you can’t find it in Healdsburg, maybe you don’t need it after all. —CK
