A remedy for fake news

The remedy for whatever ailments we perceive about our local, state or federal governments is a singular prescription. If the federal deficit is too high, or potholes aren’t getting repaired, or public pensions are unsustainable or Congress doesn’t listen, the same fix applies to all.

In a very alarming development, it has been discovered that all 13 local tax measures that were reported to have passed after election night on Nov. 3 have instead all failed. The staff at the county’s Registrar of Voters’ office, using new computer equipment, entered all of the ballots into the machines with the wrong edges facing to the left. Hence, instead of the tax measures passing by the required two-thirds majority needed, they all actually were defeated by that amount.

‘Angels’ lands at Raven Performing Arts

:Every Sunday matinee we do a post-show discussion with the audience, so they get a chance to make comments and ask questions of the actors. We saw there were a lot of people who were quite moved and quite touched by the play. So the opening weekend could not have gone better, as far as I’m concerned," said director Steven David Martin.
