Country Roads: Market memories
Happy birthday, Healdsburg Farmers’ Market. Though 40 years old today, it required a year or two of planning and work from a set of folks, some of whom are still selling produce.
Someday We’ll Laugh About This, Right? Updates
First update: We’re still in the process of replacing our van. We found a car that might be right, but it had to be brought up from Southern California, so until it arrives we are in a sort of Schrödinger’s Car situation, both having our next car and not having it. In the meantime, we are trying to find a balance between keeping enough gas in the van to be safe, but not enough to regret filling up should we go to sell it.
Market Report

Keeping the Faith: Mr. Sessions and the Bible

Big ‘P,’ little ‘p’ politics
For some time now it has seemed more and more dangerous to fall into any discussion about politics. We stopped talking politics around the Thanksgiving table and it’s risky in most other places, too. Even some marriages have suffered and long friendships have been broken off.

Local rock star on art tour
For Alexander Valley sculptor T Barney, it’s about more than just about the stone. “It’s a way scientists or astronomers envision the universe as being infinite, but finite,” he says. “It just keeps going, keeps going, keeps going.” The concepts of art and topology animate him.
