Someday we’ll laugh about this . . . right? Zero to Parrot in One Easy Appointment
I know many things about myself, but two things I am most proud of are my resiliency and my sense of humor.
Decoding Teenagers: The kitchen is open
Sometimes I feel like I live in my kitchen., On the weekends when everyone is home, the kitchen becomes the main hub. We all flock there at different times during the day to eat, but always come together at night for dinner as a family.
Off the Top of My Head
I believe in the American people. For years now it has appeared as if people in this country no longer think or maybe no longer know how to think. Perhaps it is just OPT (old people talk). Old people, like me, tend to think things are worse now than when they were young. I don’t really know. But I feel, judging from some folks’ behavior, that the number of high-thinking people in this country is diminishing and one day we will find ourselves tipped. By that, I mean, that the non-thinking folks will be so numerous that they will become an overwhelming majority and tip the scales of sensibility toward the other side.
A journalist’s toolbox
It’s the job of all journalists to tell the truth. Some of us are better at this than others. And, sadly, there are many people today who claim to be journalists and are not. Worse, way too many people mistake people they see on TV or in their Facebook feed as real journalists. All of this is making the job of professional journalists tougher and tougher by the day. The way you can tell who is a real journalist and who isn’t can be found in the tools, methods and sources they use to uncover the news, check the facts and report with total fairness.

Local ‘rock star’ on art tour
For Alexander Valley sculptor T Barny, it’s about more than just about the stone. “It’s a way scientists or astronomers envision the universe as being infinite, but finite,” he says. “It just keeps going, keeps going, keeps going.” The concepts of art and topology animate him.
