This column will run after the election is, mercifully, over. Yet, because of deadlines, I am writing before the votes are tallied. Which means that right now I am either still be exhaling a long sigh of relief at having narrowly escaped being “governed” by a bi-polar, loose hinged, racist, misogynist lunatic or looking at property in Vancouver.
Off the Top of My Head: Have we lived through worse?
I was talking with a friend and he mentioned that although these are bad times politically we baby boomers have lived through worse. He reminded me of the 1960s: A president assassinated, his brother and presidential candidate assassinated; a civil rights movement that ignited race riots in most of the major cities in the U.S. and the best known civil rights leader in the nation killed.

Modern Classic Cocktails; The PDT Cocktail Book: The Complete Bartenders Guide; Spirits and Cocktails from Around the World; and Artisanal Cocktails - Seasonal Drinks Inspired by the Bar at Cyrus by Healdsburg’s own famous cocktail baller, Scott Beattie, experienced a significant uptick in sales.
