I believe the Sonoma County Sheriff’s office needs to get back to the basics – ensuring public safety above all else, being fair and accountable and building partnerships to better engage with the community we serve. Aug. 5 was an amazing day marked by rebirth and unity among Christians as the NEWSONG Church celebrated its first 10 a.m. Sunday morning celebration at 167 Arata Lane, former home of the Vineyard of Faith (VOF) Lutheran Church. The VOF congregation is now part of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Healdsburg.

As Healdsburg continues to tread forward in the era of COVID-19 and the dialogue of racial injustice weighs heavily in our hearts and minds, our community still faces tension and uncertainty when it comes to reopening our schools, supporting our downtown plaza, housing and food insecurity, health and the protection of our city from fires. I look forward to serving our residents and the city of Healdsburg to make sure that we meet these challenges head-on.
