I am sure we are all tired of this “’rona” stuff, the isolation, the scarcity of grocery products, now the mask wearing. We all know about hand-washing, social distancing and have become experts at disinfecting. I am also sure we are definitely tired of all the information and misinformation permeating every aspect of our lives. No one needs to read more about any of that.

It’s hard to imagine what public health would look like around here without the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Sonoma County.

The ultimate manifestation of inequity is that, in the worst of times, the vulnerable suffer the most.

Beyond those who belong to brick and mortar churches in Windsor, many community-of-faith believers travel several miles to houses of worship located throughout Sonoma County.

The shooter has mental health issues. Duh, I think anyone who perpetrates a mass shooting has mental health issues.  I also believe most of us have mental health issues. The rest of us work at keeping ours under control. The problem is that it is getting harder and harder to do that.

John Mutz told the Windsor Democratic Club on Thursday, Feb. 22 that he believes the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department needs to change its culture. He says law enforcement is rooted in a status quo that has negative impacts, not only on citizens but also on the officers themselves.

This is not the time to break down, this is a time to build up, as wise man King Solomon observed 3,000 years ago. Although it seems hard to imagine what Healdsburg will be like after the current crisis fades away, it seems prudent to assume that it will take a long time to revive our town’s success story of the past 10 years.

America is a disposable nation. Each person, on average, produces more than 1,600 pounds of trash each year.
