Knights Mitey-Mites 26, Sonoma 0
Windsor turned in a great game on both offense and defense.
Connor Head had two touchdowns and more than 100 yards rushing.
Brooks Skinner had a touchdown and 85 yards rushing. Jalen Roman
had a touchdown and 60 yards rushing. The offensive line did a
great job blocking with Noah Au-Yeung holding down center with
great blocking from Chris licea and Riley Cleaver. On defense, the
Knights held strong all game with a solid performance from nose
guard Sam Maples, linebacker Carols Guzman and cornerback Bailey
Cleaver.
Knights Pee Wees 19, Sonoma 6
The Windsor Knights Pee Wees bounced back this week with a 19-6
Victory over Sonoma. This week they picked up the tempo on both
sides of the ball. On defense the Knights limited Sonoma to just
four first downs the entire game. They had one breakdown, which
resulted in a 57-yard touchdown run by Sonoma for their only score
early in the game.
The offense came right back and drove to the end zone with a
Thomas Robles two-yard TD. With the extra point, Windsor led at
halftime 7-6. In the second half the defense was a stone wall,
shutting out Sonoma, while the offense kicked it in gear scoring
two more touchdowns, and had a third called back.
The second score was on a Dorado Toyfoya five-yard run to the
outside, and the final score was on a tenacious 34-yard touchdown
run off tackle by Jarrad Leon when he broke at least three tackles
and would just not quit. Leon had one of his finest days running
the ball as a Windsor Knight carrying four times for 97 yards and a
touchdown. He also had a 30-yard touchdown called back for an
illegal block away from the play.
He really got it up the field, and just wouldn¹t go down. A good
deal of credit has to go to the unsung heroes on the line, they won
the battle up front, Keegan Steele at Center, Justin McCabe and
Blayne Salazar at guards, Joe Moore and Hilberto Contreras at
Tackles.
The defense was led by Josh Duke at nose guard, penetrating in
the backfield most of the game drawing a double team. Trenton Wells
and Blayne Salazar both had quarterback sacks.
It was a real team effort on defense with everyone contributing
including non-starters such as Kameron Richardson and Trevor Smith
stepping up and making key tackles.
