Yankees 7, Windsor LL Jr. Royals 6 (May 30)
The Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees snuck past the Windsor LL Jr.
Royals 7-6 on Tuesday evening, May 30 at Recreation Park. The
winning rally began with two outs and no one on in the bottom of
the seventh. Ryan Ramirez (2-3, run, 2 doubles, RBI) hit a double,
stole third, and scored the game-winner on an overthrow by the
Royals’ catcher. Jake Manning (3-4, run, 2 doubles, 2 RBI) and
Mitch Blakeley (2-4, run, double, RBI) had key hits. Michael Wilson
and Tommy Neal managed hits, and Alex Flores, Manny Diaz, and Cody
Candelario scored runs.
Windsor LL Giants 14, HLL Yankees 8 (June 1)
The Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees suffered their first loss of
the season Thursday evening, June 1, dropping a 14-8 decision to
the Windsor LL Jr. Giants. The Winners trailed 8-5 after 4 1/2
innings, but put together an eight-run fifth to win going away. The
Yankees were led by Michael Wilson (2-3, 2 runs, triple, 3 RBI),
Ryan Ramirez (1-3, double, 2 RBI), and Alex Flores (1-3, run,
double). Rob Mortenson had a hit and scored a run, Brian Doss had a
hit, Anthony Torres had a hit and an RBI, and Manny Diaz drove a
runner in. Wilson, Flores, and Mitch Blakeley pitched.
