Senior and league MVP Tehya Mitchell led the Healdsburg Hounds in girls golf this season. She was medalist in all 12 matches she played in, averaging just one stroke over par this season.

This year’s girls Greyhounds Varsity Volleyball team finished with a 7-20 record overall, fifth in their league at 3-7. But that never stopped the team from coming out and playing with a vibrancy that only high school girls volleyball can exhibit.

Last Friday night, in front of an excited and anxious home crowd, the Healdsburg Varsity Football team lost to the Terra Linda Trojans, unable to put an end to their three-game losing streak. The Hounds, who are now 3-5 overall, played an emotional game, especially in the second half, but their 28-19 loss to Terra Linda gives them a 0-4 record in league play.

An exciting cross country match took place last Wednesday at Hoot Owl Vineyards in Alexander Valley. The bucolic vine- and tree-studded setting is undermined by the rugged course, full of steep inclines, sharp turns and some unstable footing.

The North Coast Section’s Mountain division season has proven a disappointment for the Healdsburg Greyhounds—so far. With three straight non-league wins to open the season, Healdsburg fans were delirious with hope, and dreams of a complete Cinderella turnabout from the recent seasons.
