Golfers flocking to course in record numbers amid pandemic

The softball team turned up for Tuesday’s game against Piner about the same time the rains began to fall, so the meeting of the NCS Redwood teams was postponed to a later date. The Greyhounds were hoping for an upset to reverse their four-game losing streak—the last time they won a game was against Willits, 13-3, on March 9.

The Cloverdale High School varsity volleyballers didn’t skip a beat in the opening week of the league volleyball season, scoring a pair of wins over Middletown and Willits.

A successful winter sports campaign was validated for some 21 Cloverdale High School athletes, garnering all NCL1 recognition in basketball, soccer and wrestling as voted on by coaches.

Throughout the school year, the Windsor Times will name a male and female athlete of the week. Recipients will receive a free small soda, a small bag of chips and a sandwich from Pohley’s Market.

The El Molino Lions boys squad took round one for west county soccer bragging rights on Jan. 14, slipping past arch rival Analy, 2-1 in a surprising upset win. The victory over the Tigers was the first in years for the Lions, making first half goals from Zack Strehlow and Cole Van Stone stand up for the win. Also turning in solid games were Lions defenders Jacob Cibrian and Indigo LaMere and midfielders Ryan Palmer and Jesse Gonzales.
