The Cloverdale Lady Eagles are on the cusp of a coveted league soccer title this week following a 9-0 romp at Lower Lake on Oct. 15.

“Leading the stats are junior forward Jairo Mendoza with 7 goals and 3 assists. Senior goalkeeper Roy Paz has recorded 3 shutouts,” reported coach Herbert Lemus. “Most of our forwards are in the score sheet with different players providing the assists which is good for our team.”

The girls swim team from Healdsburg High School delivered their strongest performance in years at the North Bay League’s windy championships last weekend.

Even though Friday night put another loss in the league column for Healdsburg, the season ended on a note of courageous play and spirited hope for a winning season next year. Said Rosales, “I believe it is not a stretch to say that one of next year’s goals is to be league champions.”
