The five-time defending league champion Analy Tigers opened the
fall volleyball campaign last week, dispatching a stubborn visiting
Napa squad in five games; 25-20, 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, and
15-7.
Although the win did not come easily, it went a long way in
establishing the Tigers as a team that will battle tooth and nail
to the bitter end.
“I thought Napa was actually the better volleyball team, but we
just worked so much harder and are in much better shape than they
are,” said veteran Tiger coach Nancy Williams. “Our whole season is
going to be based on our work ethic and fitness level.”
Senior outside hitter Claire Sullivan led the net attack with 17
kills. Other offensive leaders included Marla Petrucci (10 kills,
21 assists), and Briana Adviento (15 digs,10 kills).
