In what could be termed a generational change, a new executive director of Wine Road of Northern Sonoma County—better known by the short form, Wine Road—was named to take over the 50-year old organization this month. Katie Ambrosi replaces Beth Costa after her 26-year leadership.

Things are taking shape for the 77th annual Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair, perhaps the most thoroughly Healdsburg event on the calendar. Between the culinary “Experience” of last weekend and the oncoming “Edge” of next month, it’s as if history grabs us by the nape and says, “Pay attention to now!”

“We traveled a lot when I was growing up. I’m an only child, and so that made it feasible.” That broad background in travel came to define Liza Gershman’s journey, although it was as a photographer that she began to build a career,

“So what’s the difference between ours and every one of the other ones? What keeps coming up is that it’s not an event where just people are drinking and shoving food into their mouths because it’s great. We have a real connection to the land that they don’t have. Healdsburg has this agricultural history that’s real and palpable, and you can feel it when you’re here.”

The big question looming over the Tuesday Market for much of last season was its location for 2026. Having been on the Healdsburg Plaza for years, and associated with that spot, moving it was not something the management, vendors or the community wanted. The city felt strongly, however, that the new Foley Family Community Pavilion should be the site for both markets, having built the facility specifically for them...

The new exhibition at the Healdsburg Museum puts history front and center in the lives of many of the museum’s visitors themselves. It’s not about 19th century gold-diggers or pre-Columbian basket weaving, but the era of sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll: the 1970s.

Acre uses Pizza Master electric ovens, which keep the temperature constant on top and bottom. And DeCosse is a big advocate of pre-roasting the vegetables before they’re put on the pizza to go in the oven. This, he insists, helps to avoid the dreaded “floppy pizza.”

The proprietors of BloodRoot Wines, Kelly and Noah Dorrance, have been organizing an annual music and wine festival called The Ramble as a fundraiser benefitting  GIFFORDS, a national organization dedicated to preventing gun violence.
