Grand Tasting at the Vintage Plaza, Healdsburg
Photo by Huge Galdones GRAND TASTING Saturday afternoon, May 17, locals and visitors will gather for the Grand Tasting at the Vintage Plaza, where over 100 wineries and food vendors will offer tastes and treats to showcase the “experience” of Healdsburg wine and food.

Raven Players

Museum Exhibit

March Avenue bike lane
BIKE LANE The current layout of March Avenue from University Street to Healdsburg Avenue includes, for much of its length, a Class II bike lane designated only by paint.

THURSDAY, MAY 15

March Avenue Meeting

The City of Healdsburg will hold a community meeting on the March Avenue Reconstruction and Pedestrian Upgrades Project, which will get underway later this year. This is an opportunity for locals to learn more about the planned improvements, ask questions and provide input. Meeting is at the Fitch Mountain School Multipurpose Room, 520 Monte Vista Ave., 6-7:30pm. 

Burrito Brother

Multi-national rocker Sam Blasucci of Mapache brings his mellow country sound a la Graham Parsons to the second story stage at Little Saint, where he hopes to find some of the band’s fans representing the country rock tradition with bespangled Western wear. Free show, 6-9pm at 25 North St.

FRIDAY, MAY 16

Allen Stone
Headliner at this year’s Healdsburg Food & Wine Experience is Allen Stone, a shaggy blond R&B singer from the far-off state of Washington and an American Song Contest competitor. Once again it’s at Rodney Strong Vineyards, with food trucks, clear sunset weather and plenty of Rodney Strong wines. 5:30 to 9pm, tickets $95 at healdsburgwineandfood.com/tickets.

Blonde Friday
Two blonde performers get tribute bands, starting with Blondiva, an 80s covers band featuring the music of pioneering punk rockers Blondie. Then Blonde Ambition is next, perfectly recreates the sound, the look, the costumes, and the feel of Madonna. Friday, snow starts at 8pm, doors at 6, $20 advance, $25 at the door of Coyote Sonoma, 44F Mill St.

SATURDAY, MAY 17

Farmers’ Market

This Saturday only, the Healdsburg Certified Farmers’ Market will take place at the Healdsburg Plaza, due to a scheduling conflict. It runs from 8:30am to noon. Shop local, and keep small businesses and farms thriving (and avoid tariff surcharges). Details at healdsburgfarmersmarket.org.

Grand Tasting

This most popular of the Healdsburg Food & Wine Experience is held on Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30pm, as 100 vendors of food, wine and lifestyle share their wares under the big canopy erected over the West Plaza parking lot. The location is transformed into a showcase of what Healdsburg does best. Tickets $250 or $195 for Healdsburg locals, at healdsburgwineandfood.com/tickets.

Hotel Jazz

Ebullient guitar jazz reminiscent of Wes Montgomery from the Ian Scherer Trio, with Trevor Kinsel (bass) and Spike Klein  (drums). The Spirit Bar is located right off the lobby of the Hotel Healdsburg, and serves a limited menu during these no-cover performances, 6-9pm, 25 Matheson St., drycreekkitchen.com.

Nicolas Bearde

There’s nothing like that “buttery baritone” of a jazz blues singer such as Nicolas Bearde. Appearing with four familiar musicians, including Glen Person on piano and Lorca Hart on drums, Charles MacNeal on sax and Ruth Davies on bass, Bearde will deliver the emotional warmth of vocal jazz as few others can. 7pm, tickets $35-$85 at 222 Healdsburg Ave., the222.org.

SUNDAY MAY 18

Abel De Luna

A significant day in Healdsburg history as the community center is renamed for former mayor Abel De Luna, with farmworker rights legend Dolores Huerta on hand to give her blessing. Includes speeches, a giant check, multiple musical contributions, activities for kids and food for sale. 1-5pm, 1557 Healdsburg Ave. 

MONDAY, MAY 19

Gang of Five
Time again for the Healdsburg City Council to consider matters of the day and civic governance in their twice-weekly meetings, held in council chambers at 401 Grove St., starting at 6pm. Also available by live stream and video record at www.facebook.com/cityofhealdsburg .

TUESDAY, MAY 20

Tuesdays Farmers’ Market

Healdsburg Certified Farmers’ Market continues on Tuesdays  on Plaza and Center streets surrounding the Plaza, while continuing their usual Saturday market as well. Tuesday times are 9am until 12:30pm, with a similar collection of produce and farm products plus crafts. Every Tuesday (with some exceptions) until Sept. 30. 

THURSDAY, MAY 22

Twilight Parade
Join the community for a historic evening parade through the streets of Healdsburg, featuring a lively mix of colorful floats, spirited community groups, and festive performers, bringing the streets to life with music, dancing, and celebration. The annual parade, from 6-8pm, captures the heart and spirit of Healdsburg, and kicks off the annual Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair that runs through Saturday, May 24.
