The Wings Over Wine Country Air Show returns to the Sonoma County airport on August 18 and 19 with a mix of returning favorites and new exhibits.

When it comes to dicing and slicing, the students in the knife skills class at the Santa Rosa Junior College practice sharp concentration. Along with learning the techniques, they are also in charge of chopping the ingredients that will be used for menu items served at the department’s café. Fresh daily breads, soups, salads and desserts are just a few items students present on the menu for guests who visit their new building on Mendocino Avenue.

Despite the near-freezing temperatures, a dozen people gathered one early Saturday morning in January at the base of Warm Springs Dam at Lake Sonoma. The group was mixed, including both young and old. Some brought walking sticks, others had binoculars hanging from their necks. These men and women all had one thing in common: birding.
