Among the judges for the Kids Parade was, once again, Evelyn Mitchell, joined by Police Chief Matt Jenkins and this year’s mayor, Chris Herrod. “I have had the honor of being the head judge for the last several years,” Mitchell said. “It is one of my favorite things to do."

The city-sponsored Sundays in the Plaza brings country Laura Benitez and the Heartache to the Gazebo from 1-3pm. Not to be confused with Tuesdays in the Plaza, this is a great opportunity to bring a picnic, sit back, relax and enjoy the songs.

"Little Shop of Horrors" is the musical adaptation of a cult 1960s sci-fi movie, remade and brought to the stage by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (of "The Little Mermaid") at the Raven Theater.

On Saturday, the monthly Vamos al Tianguis at the Community Pavilion celebrates diversity, supports local artisans and fosters community connections hosted by Vamos North Bay. Free, 3 North St., 4-9pm.

The popular History Talks programs from the Healdsburg Museum return for the summer to the Plaza Gazebo, Saturday mornings from 10-11:30am until Aug. 29. The first talk is about 1976, with interviews with former mayor Jerry Eddinger, businessman Eric Drew and winemaker Dennis Hill, plus bandleader Lew Sbrana.

Though Santa Rosa and other communities in Sonoma County have already hosted Pride events, in Healdsburg all the action is this coming weekend, including a Pride Movie Night and a Rainbow Runway show at the Pavilion, followed by a Tea Dance for “music, movement, and connection.”

Every Tuesday evenings through August, friends and neighbors will gather at impromptu picnic spots beneath a palm or pine to share food, beverages (usually wine) and conversation, dancing with abandon in front of the Gazebo stage.
