Spring flowers get a lot of attention, but fall blooms can be just as beautiful. As we near the end of the growing season for many local farms, florists love to take advantage of the late summer/early fall bounty. Here are seven flower varieties to help you welcome the season! Debra Granik directed her cinematographer Michael McDonough to open her new film Leave No Trace with National Geographic-style shots of a verdant Oregon rainforest. There, among all the shades of green, we eventually distinguish a hooded-jacket-wearing figure ... no, it is two figures, carefully making their way through the dense undergrowth.

When it comes to dicing and slicing, the students in the knife skills class at the Santa Rosa Junior College practice sharp concentration. Along with learning the techniques, they are also in charge of chopping the ingredients that will be used for menu items served at the department’s café. Fresh daily breads, soups, salads and desserts are just a few items students present on the menu for guests who visit their new building on Mendocino Avenue.
