Pseudoscience — not chemtrails — is the real threat to our society

We don’t know how old the Chinese proverb is, that says, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and the second best time is now.” We don’t know if its truly an authentic ancient parable or not, but we’ll accept it as great advice for how we should be thinking about our current affordable housing crisis in Sonoma County and California.

Cali Calmécac Language Academy has had an eventful year full of fun, inspiration and new programs that benefit our students and staff.  As a school we were privileged to open up to our community and be able to showcase some of our many accomplishments during our Open House on April 4.  

We’ve all been exposed to pictures of drug abusers meant to scare us onto the straight and narrow path. Images of opium dens, strung out “junkies” using needles, meant to create distance between the substance abuser and the community. This strategy has worked well, creating isolation, exclusion and stigma around substance abuse issues and those that struggle with addiction. This stigma has made it harder for those in need to ask for, and accept, treatment for addictions.

I did not know and I am sure many of you are unaware of the “In Memory” Program in Washington D.C. founders of this program were Friends of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in 1993. This program honors your Vietnam veteran’s life cut short after they returned home.
