Feb. 1901: "The window casing did not prove efficient in keeping out the water, so two copper beakers and a glass dish were placed upon the sill to catch the frequent streams. Wine Words: May the New Year be green
In welcoming the New Year, the most important story of our time continues to be climate change. A Special Report released in October by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) revealed that basically everything the world agreed upon in the United Nations Paris Climate Agreement in 2015 to curb global warming is not enough. The Trump administration concurred with the scientific evidence of this study, and with commitments necessary to mitigate global warming. Thus, the question of whether climate change is being caused by human activity is no longer a political issue, it’s scientific fact.

Greetings from your community library. Like so many of our dear readers, the staff at the library have been sheltering in place at home and hoping we can get back to work soon. Although the physical space of the library has been inaccessible as we address safety concerns and work with the county's public health department, we hope you have been exploring ways to make use of the library virtually.

Return to the Russian River
When Jake Messing stood in front of the mural he had just completed for Russian Riverkeeper on the north side of the nonprofit’s headquarters at 139 Healdsburg Ave., he had finished more than another mural. He had made a return to the source from the sea himself, like the salmon he portrayed.
