Newsroom Notebook — The sound of one hand typing
Here in the newsroom at Sonoma West Publishers we often joke, in that black way that most journalists have, about our “extensive staff.” By which we mean each of our four newspapers has a single editor, who is responsible for not only all the management-type stuff, but we also write the majority of the articles and take the majority of photos you see in your paper every week.
Off the Top of My Head: No sons for me
People assumed when we decided to have children that I would want a boy, a first born male. I can understand why people would think that, it is pretty common for men to want a son and even that the first born should be a son. But that’s not me.

The fabulous blond dyed hair of the entire Puerto Rican team
How much better Dodger Stadium looks without...
Our Christmas blessings

Someday We’ll Laugh About This … Right? Reset
Every so often, I like to remind myself (and everyone within hearing distance) how lucky we are to live where we do. This weekend’s reminder was brought to you by a three-generation day trip to Doran Beach.
Changing routines can lead to frustration right out the gate
In case you haven’t noticed, Mother Nature is a serious fan of routine.

‘Angels’ lands at Raven Performing Arts
:Every Sunday matinee we do a post-show discussion with the audience, so they get a chance to make comments and ask questions of the actors. We saw there were a lot of people who were quite moved and quite touched by the play. So the opening weekend could not have gone better, as far as I’m concerned," said director Steven David Martin.
