Show up and win

We know it is true that fewer and fewer people vote these days and just stay home. And we also know that more and more of these same people let their apathy and ignorance ruin their dreams for happier days, healthier children, strong communities or a greater America. That is sad news.

A Founding Council Member’s Perspective on Sam Salmon’s recollections

My friend Sam Salmon misleads readers in writing (“General Plan Update” Commentary, The Windsor Times, April  28, 2016) that our “first Town Council looked at Windsor’s sphere of influence as an opportunity for growth while others living here desired to preserve open space and stop urban sprawl.” This comment distorts the motivations and commitments of the five of us who were elected from a field of 15 candidates to our first Town Council.

EX LIBRIS

New at the Healdsburg Library: DVD 364.162 ART: “Art of the Heist – Inside the Art World’s Biggest Thefts” (14 episodes on four discs) and a viewer’s guide. From famous forgeries to Hitler’s plundering, and thefts of Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Munch’s The Scream, we are given details and reenactments of the process by which these events transpired and the lengths taken to retrieve the art works involved. A fascinating account from the Athena learning program.

‘Angels’ lands at Raven Performing Arts

We saw there were a lot of people who were quite moved and quite touched by the play. So the opening weekend could not have gone better, as far as I’m concerned," said director Steven David Martin.
