Commentary: Organizing to rebuild
Our community has never been stronger than it is today. We were sorely tested by the fires in October. We’ve been sorely tested ever since, as fire survivors clean up the ashes and rubble of our homes and attempt to keep our focus on the future.
Off the Top of My Head: New money in town
There is a lot of new money in our county, buying up the real estate. One new neighbor told me he moved up here because it was cheaper than where they lived in the East Bay. Yikes, people moving here because it’s cheaper?

The warmth and friendly spirit found at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 8400 Old Redwood Highway, extends far beyond the town’s boundaries.
Country Roads: The comfortable past
Is anybody else confused? My head used to be on straight. The world made sense. Things, as in appliances, telephones, cameras, you-name-it, worked simply and consistently. Now, none of it does.

But I Digress … What’s in a name?
Bean Affair. What does that mean? Sounds a little like a Mexican restaurant, yes? But it’s a coffee shop in Healdsburg. Does it imply that you should have a romantic affair with your coffee beans? Can I just say, “Yuck?”
Commentary: Congressional Republicans are at it again
The Congressional Republicans, in the past always against increasing the deficit, are trying to ram through tax legislation that would drastically increase the deficit by giving huge tax cuts to the billionaire/millionaire class and corporations. They have admitted that they are being pressured by their rich donors (i.e. Koch Brothers, Trump, friends of Trump, and others) who want huge tax cuts.

‘Angels’ lands at Raven Performing Arts
:Every Sunday matinee we do a post-show discussion with the audience, so they get a chance to make comments and ask questions of the actors. We saw there were a lot of people who were quite moved and quite touched by the play. So the opening weekend could not have gone better, as far as I’m concerned," said director Steven David Martin.
