100 years ago – December 6, 1920

Tribune readers have advice and opinions, and sometimes they share them in our Letters column, published irregularly.

The Nov. 3 ballot includes a handful of local tax measures and a pitifully perplexing question about California’s infamous Prop. 13, first passed by voters in 1978 and now trying to be amended by this year’s Prop. 15. California has been in need of major tax reforms for decades. Unfortunately, this election is taking another pass on our Prop. 13 tax problem that everybody likes to complain about but nobody has the political guts to attack it. So it goes.

Priorities out of whack

When I brought each one of my babies home from the hospital, I was always amazed by their tiny feet. I don’t why the 10 little toes were so precious looking to me, but they were.

I’ve just watched Denis Villeneuve’s science fiction film Arrival in a time warp. This is due to a variety of circumstances that seem to be astrologically aligned (perhaps because the moon is the closest to Earth since 1948). I will elaborate the three links below.
