On Thursday, Jan. 30th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Windsor Round Table pizza restaurant, the Windsor Democratic Club will hear presentations from representatives of campaigns for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Each campaign representative will speak briefly, and then answer questions.

The Department of Emergency Management presented the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors with a workshop on the threat of earthquakes at Wednesday’s board meeting as part of our ongoing, quarterly series of threat assessments.

The other day, I picked my son up from school and had some errands to run afterward. I also had the baby in the car and we all know what a pain it is to get the littles out of their car seat every time we have to go a store. So I nicely asked my son to run into the post office to mail a folder to my mother-in-law. I handed him a couple of dollars and the folder, expecting him to just hop out of the car and go mail it. Instead, he looked at me like I was crazy. “Mom,” he says. “I don’t know how to mail this. What do I say when I get up to the counter?” Oh my goodness, I’m thinking to myself. Ok, be nice Elizabeth, don’t insult him. I had to handle this situation correctly as it was a very delicate one.

I have mentioned before that I am taking classes at the Junior College. It is taking a long time, because I am taking one class a semester, but eventually I will have a certificate showing that I am proficient to be an office assistant. Some...

While reading reports of calamitous invasions of hurricanes, floods and displacement of whole populations; attempting to track the directions of two world leaders bent on outdoing Mother Nature in threatening destruction of the planet, I find myself musing on a tiny beetle eating our zinnias.

From Feb. 20, 1975 Healdsburg Tribune: 'For what appears to be the first time in its history, Healdsburg Elementary School will have a behavior code, elementary school trustees decided last Thursday night. The new behavior code was prompted by a petition from 19 faculty members in December that cites “serious problems” occurring “in the classroom, cafeteria and playground.”
