Snapshot: Yosemite Valley in Spring
There’s a lot of water flowing into Yosemite Valley. All the major waterfalls are gushing, including Vernal Falls. Unnamed waterfalls from snowmelt seemingly flow out of granite walls everywhere one looks.
Who mentioned a parade?
While the Commander-in-Chief back in Washington, D.C. fantasizes about having his own military-themed parade later this year, here we’re too busy getting ready to launch our own year of parades. All of them honor our veterans with a lead-off color guard and salute but all our local seasonal and themed parades mostly honor our culture, traditions, our young people and our diversity. For the most part, they are more like peace parades than martial processions.

Multicultural Center takes shape at Abel de Luna
Bursts of color explode from every corner and every angle of the newly repainted Abel de Luna Community Center on the north side of town. Fuchsia, sunflower, marigold, plum and chrysanthemum abut and juxtapose with one another on the many outside walls and columns, as two muralists work on their own visions of Healdsburg.
