I’m so happy to read of this ("The Row", July 3). What a fantastic use of the area and keeping within the historical “spirit” of Healdsburg and not selling out to a huge hospitality operation. As a business owner and tenant from 1995 through 2003 I have a great respect and affection for the Humphrey family....

If you grow tomatoes, consider growing marijuana. Skill is required, but it’s not rocket science. The legal limit varies from city to city. It’s best to check with the authorities, or go to sonomacounty.ca.gov/Cannabis/Personal-Use-and-Cultivation/ for information. The site states that, “Permits are not required for personal cultivation” on land outside city limits.

My husband and I had the pleasure of seeing Jerry Seinfeld live at the Luther Burbank Center last Friday night. As you know, we are huge Seinfeld fans and I was lucky enough to score the tickets for his Christmas present.

Returning home from the recent Russian Riverkeeper fundraiser, for the umpteenth time I wondered what exactly makes for a successful event. There was so much I appreciated about the Ripp’n River Bash. Let’s begin with the invitation — blue, white and black, the creative artwork screamed “river,” with a mission clearly stated front and center:
