The folks who run the Healdsburg Food Pantry are hosting a
“Country Wine Dancing” event on Saturday, Nov. 15 starting at 7
p.m. at the Alexander Valley Community Hall. The $50 ticket price
includes dinner catered by the Western Boot, live music by the
Manzanita Moon band, a square dance caller, wine and a silent
auction. All proceeds benefit the Healdsburg Shared Ministries Food
Pantry. Last year the event raised more than $8,000. Businesses and
individuals interested in making donations for the auction should
call Susan Graff, 433-6777 or Robin Ridder, 433-3339. The food
pantry has seen the demand for its services continue to grow. In
August, the pantry fed 2,000 people, including adults, children and
the elderly. Immigrant workers and their families account for about
70 percent of their clients.
