Former Bloomfield resident Dorothy Marie Garner, 85, died on May
29 in Santa Rosa. She was born in New Mexico. She was president of
the Bloomfield PTA in the ’40s, the treasurer for the Sonoma County
Retirees, member of the CLC and was involved in Esther’s Friends
Bible Study Group. She enjoyed gardening, reading, music, traveling
and every Saturday morning she went with her friend Gerd to collect
bread for the church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter
Thelma Holley. She is survived by her daughters Dorothy (Russ)
Larson, Betty (Bob) Galligan, and Carol Schmidt, her sons, Don
(Judy) Garner and Ron (Melanie) Garner, her 14 grandchildren, 26
great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Donations
may be made in her name to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital
Foundation.
