The Boys & Girls Club of Central Sonoma County has announced
that Emilie Roy had been promoted as new Director for the
Healdsburg Club. Roy, 26, joined the organization in August of 2009
as the Program Director for a brand new Club at JX Wilson
Elementary School in Santa Rosa. She helped grow the Club from 15
members to more than 100 in the first month.
Roy has prior experience with the Boys & Girls Club of
America, working at the Club in San Luis Obispo County in 2004
while attending Cal Poly. After graduating Cal Poly with a degree
in history and ethnic studies she moved to Sonoma County to pursue
a master’s degree in history and gender studies. While in school
she worked at the Charles M. Schulz Museum as the School Programs
and Education Coordinator.
Now she looks to continue her work with the Boys & Girls
Club in the city of Healdsburg.
