The Healdsburg Greyhounds varsity baseball team continues to put up the numbers in its 2026 season, both in league games—they are 4-1—and overall with a 10-3 record. They only lost one game at home all year, an unfortunate 10-1 fail against Analy on March 25.

The annual program was started in 1996 after the death of Marie Sparks, well known and recognized for her volunteer efforts in the community. Sparks is remembered for her passion, persistence and grit, which encouraged many to join her in volunteering.

The softball team turned up for Tuesday’s game against Piner about the same time the rains began to fall, so the meeting of the NCS Redwood teams was postponed to a later date. The Greyhounds were hoping for an upset to reverse their four-game losing streak—the last time they won a game was against Willits, 13-3, on March 9.

Fans at the Ramble

The Ramble finds its place on the local calendar

The first weekend in June is becoming unofficially known as Ramble Weekend, as BloodRoot Wines continues its quixotic effort to make Healdsburg a waystation on the alt-rock circuit. Scheduled just two weeks after “the other BR,” Bottle Rock, the one-day-plus music festival will again take over the extensive lawn at Abel de Luna Community Center on Saturday, June 6.
