Healdsburg Police Log Feb 27-March 4

Monday, Feb. 27

9:54am. Burglary occurred at Coyote Sonoma on Mill St. Reporting Party (RP) said the safe was open when she got to work; approximately $5000 was missing. 

10:17am. Petty theft reported at Safeway on Vine St. Report of a transient subject who stole from the store and is “claiming that the store is his.” Subject was last seen going toward the Dollar Tree. Unable to locate.

11:07am. A “Flock hit” from the city’s automated license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras led to the arrest of two individuals at Safeway wanted on arrest warrants from Oakland, a 39-year-old male and a 34-year-old woman. They were transported to county jail. 

2:06pm. Petty theft at Big John’s Market; Reporting Party (RP) said someone shoplifted from them approximately one hour ago, items valued at approximately $72. RP does have video footage. 

2:16pm. Fraud reported to Healdsburg Police Department. RP said she sent money via an app to whom she thought was a friend and realized that it was not her friend and is now not able to get her money back. 

4:58pm. Reckless driver reported Healdsburg Community Center; a vehicle doing doughnuts in the parking lot. Gone on arrival.

Tuesday, Feb. 28

12:09pm. Accident with property damage only at Wells Fargo Bank on Vine St. Vehicle struck the building. 

4:09pm. Healdsburg District Hospital called to report that they had a victim with a wound in the left side of his chest from a pair of scissors. Subject told hospital staff that he would not cooperate with police and would state that he fell. Officers determined it happened in Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction. Subject left the hospital without further treatment. 

4:58pm. A 32-year-old woman was arrested following a vehicle accident on Gauntlett Rd. She was taken to county jail and her vehicle was towed. 

Wednesday, March 1

8:16am. A transient couple has been trying to break into the guest laundry room at Dry Creek Inn and “setting up some kind of shelter in the area.” Officer responded, warned subjects for trespassing and advised them to leave the area. 

11:31am. A reckless driver was reported southbound on Healdsburg Ave. from Powell, a “newer white RAV4 that is driving slow and not maintaining lanes.” Officers responded; unable to locate.

12:54pm. A non-injury two-vehicle accident occurred at Bells Ambulance on Powell Ave. Report taken.

4:37pm. Petty theft reported at Big John’s Market on Healdsburg Ave. that occurred last night. Valued at $42. RP has footage and would like to press charges. 

10:24pm. Reckless driver exiting 101 at northbound offramp, Old Redwood Hwy.  Suspect was seen swerving in and out of the center divide on the 101. Gone on arrival.

Thursday, March 2

3:42pm. Vehicle-pedestrian accident at Safeway on Vine St. Officers dispatched; subjects located at the south end of Safeway.

Friday, March 3

9:53am. Unwanted subject reported at Spoke Folk Cyclery on Center St. RP states subject seems intoxicated and fears he will accost customers. Unable to locate.

1:56pm. Petty theft at Big John’s Market; RP stated someone stole wood pallets from the back of the store and they want to press charges. Video available. Report taken. 

2:55pm. Three-car accident occurred at Healdsburg Ave./Front St., property damage only. No injuries, no airbags, no children and not blocking traffic. All parties exchanged information.

3:03pm. The RP at Little Saint stated a woman threw “something plastic” at a female passerby and her child, who are no longer in the area. A second caller stated an erratic female in the Plaza walked up to the singer and took money or threw it, and then went northbound on Center St. A third caller stated she viewed the woman push the singer in the Plaza, and saw her kick a sign in front of Banshee. A 38-year-old woman was detained, arrested and transported to county jail for indecent exposure, property damage and assault.

Saturday, March 4

8:22am. RP called to report graffiti that is three weeks old on Ward St. at the RR tracks dating from a  Feb. 16 incident. Report taken. (The graffiti has since been abated.)

9:10am. Interview occurred at Sonoma County Jail when HPD officer interviewed a 32-year-old man in custody about two ongoing Healdsburg investigations concerning Feb. 12 thefts out of unlocked vehicles on Sunnyvale Dr. and Chablis Rd. He was identified as a suspect through residential video surveillance as well as surveillance from a local gas station where he is suspected of fraudulently using a credit card stolen from one of the thefts. He was arrested on multiple related charges.

2:29pm. Officer initiated activity at Wild Flowers Saloon, Mitchell Ln. A 42-year-old male was cited for multiple Sonoma County warrants, including possession of paraphernalia, violation of probation, petty theft, battery and violation of probation. 

6:28pm. Graffiti occurred at Wash and Brush Up Co on Healdsburg Ave. RP stated a male subject spray-painted the front and side window of the business. She has it on security footage. Footage provided.

8:53pm. An unwanted subject was spotted by Ring motion alert at River Belle Inn on Front St. in the backyard. The individual walked into and surveyed the yard. He left in a white pickup truck, possibly newer due to condition; subject described as adult male in his 60s, medium build, baseball cap, white COVID mask, gray jacket, hoodie under jacket, jeans and work boots. Units informed of patrol request for tonight.
