The Geyserville varsity softball squad fell to Ferndale, 2-0 in
the first round of the North Coast Section B playoffs last
Tuesday.
The Lady Bronchos ended the season with a North Central ll South
co-championship with a 6-1 league mark, and an overall record of
11-4.
Despite a two-hit, 10-strikeout effort from hurler Vanessa
Flores, the Lady Bronchos couldn¹t punch any runs across with
runner on base.
³It was probably our best defensive game of the season, but we
just couldn¹t get anything going offensively,² said Geyserville
coach Mark Spaulding. ³We actually out-hit Ferndale five to two but
couldn¹t come up with the big hit when we needed it.²
The future looks bright for the Bronchos, who expect to return a
talented nucleus of players in 2007.
