Yes on B
Have you taken a ride on the Smart Train? I live in Santa Rosa and have had the opportunity to join friends for lunch in Petaluma and San Rafael and have also taken the train to the Larkspur Ferry in order to go to San Francisco and attend a Giants game with my husband. We use it for the fun of being able to visit and sightsee hands free, utilizing public transportation.
For many, the Smart Train provides essential transportation to and from work or school or to services otherwise difficult to access. This vital resource is also needed in our northern Sonoma County cities of Healdsburg and Cloverdale to provide affordable, safe and reliable transportation to services and businesses in Windsor, Santa Rosa and beyond.
Measure B continues the support we previously approved of just a quarter-cent tax to provide and expand services—certainly a tremendous deal! Please join me in voting YES on B!

Citizen governance
Regarding the Open Mic article by Evelyn Mitchell, “Council member on No Kings rally,” April 8: That surprises me when you say you are so concerned about citizens feeling safe, valued and represented.
I’m a 40-year resident of Healdsburg. From what I have observed those three things are not evidenced in the way the council has voted in the last five years. Specifically since this council has been in place. It’s not been a democratic process by any means. The record shows the council all vote together according to their consensus of opinion. Not for the representation of their constituents. It’s become standard operating procedure. Actions speak louder than words. Let’s see if this is a better year for demonstrating what you say is so important to you.
