Abandoned dogs
PET CRATE Seven Australian cattle dog mixes were dropped off on Westside Road near the animal shelter on Wednesday morning, Dec. 31, locked in a crate. Police responded and took the animals to the Sonoma County Animal Services in Santa Rosa for intake and observation prior to possible rehoming. No suspect has been found; investigations continue.

Monday, Dec. 22

8:10am A man slept under the Gazebo in Plaza Park on Healdsburg Avenue and hung his items on nearby artwork. The man was told to clean up and move along. He was cited for camping.

8:19am A warrant service officer at L&M Motel on Healdsburg Avenue cited a 59-Year-Old (YO) man with an active Sonoma County warrant regarding possession of methamphetamine.

11:00am A 49-YO man was arrested at Plaza Park on Healdsburg Avenue for creating or maintaining a public nuisance and for unlawful camping. Public works would handle the unsalvageable belongings left behind. The man’s bike was brought to the police department for safekeeping.

3:59pm A report was taken regarding grand theft of wires along the Foss Creek walking path between Dry Creek Road and Grant Street.

10:58pm A vehicle was stopped near the 7-Eleven on Healdsburg Avenue for having a covered or blocked license plate. A 24-YO man was arrested and brought to county jail for driving under the influence (DUI), possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.

Tuesday, Dec. 23 

9:33am A warrant was served on Heron Drive to a 65-YO man. He was arrested and brought to county jail for possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior drug convictions and on two outstanding Sonoma County warrants regarding failure to appear.

12:06pm The Reporting Party (RP) indicated that after an accident at the Brandt Insurance Lot on Healdsburg Avenue on Dec. 19, the person who hit the RP’s car did not call the RP back although multiple voicemails were left. An officer contacted the other party. The officer collected the insurance information and relayed it to the RP.

Thursday, Dec. 25 

2:50pm A 49-YO man was served a warrant regarding possession of methamphetamine at Opperman & Son Inc. on Kinley Drive. He was cited and released.

Friday, Dec. 26 

10:34am The RP at Carson Warner Memorial Skatepark on Grove Street said a driver tailgated the RP. The other driver threw his arms out the window, made inappropriate hand gestures towards the RP and followed the RP. While on the phone with dispatch, the other driver stopped following the RP. The RP wanted the information documented and officers notified of the other driver’s erratic behavior.

8:29pm A hit-and-run accident involving two guests occurred at Montage on Montage Way. A guest was advised to contact the Healdsburg Police Department if law enforcement assistance was desired.

10:12pm A vehicle was stopped for violating vehicle registration rules on Lytton Springs Road at Healdsburg Avenue. A 22 YO woman was arrested and transported to county jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a license suspended for DUI.

10:29pm The RP, the property manager at Christian Science Church on East Street, wanted a man and woman to leave the property. The RP gave permission for the man to access the property during the rain, but not to sleep there. The man smoked inside the church and left clothes on bushes. The man claimed he had a key, but the RP never gave him a key. Officers responded and contacted the people. They left the property.

Saturday, Dec. 27  

12:12am The valet at the Montage on Montage Way parked the RP’s vehicle and subsequently a guest hit the RP’s vehicle. The RP did not want to press charges. Officers went to the Montage to view surveillance tape and speak with staff for informational purposes.

2:10pm The RP on Solar Way indicated he was sexually assaulted when he was 12 years old. Officers conducted an interview and took a report.

10:34pm The RP reported a reckless driver on March Avenue at Creekside Court. 

The reckless driver drove 65 to 70 miles per hour, revved the vehicle’s engine and caused car alarms to go off. An officer responded, but the vehicle was gone on arrival and unable to be located. Subsequently, the RP called back and said the reckless driving occurred again. The RP requested an officer to wait on University Street at March Avenue. An officer again responded but was unable to locate the vehicle.

11:29pm Officers heard a verbal disturbance on Plaza Street. Officers responded but found the situation under control, and no further assistance was needed.

Sunday, Dec. 28

7:57pm The RP on Brown Street stated her house was egged. The RP wanted to press charges if her house was damaged and a suspect was identified. An officer responded and took a report.

10:49pm The RP at Safeway on Vine Street said a man who seemed intoxicated bought a lot of alcohol. He smelled like alcohol, had trouble speaking and needed help entering his rewards number. The man left in his vehicle. An officer responded and checked the area. The vehicle was gone on arrival and unable to be located.
