Golf review: a bond between father and son
As I’ve written in years past, my father Mich and I have a long history of playing in the Northern California Family Golf Championship on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park Golf Course. This challenging tree-lined par three course is tucked away in the western part of the park on 47th and Fulton. We won the beginner’s fifth flight when I was 10 years old and we won the championship flight twice 25 years ago, in 1993 and 1994.Â
A little ag history
The Sonoma County Fair begins its 83rd running today (Aug. 1 through 11) offering all of us a mid-summer showcase of both our agricultural roots and our more contemporary wine country trappings and pursuits. A Hall of Flowers, evening concerts, daily youth livestock judging, horse races, carnival rides, craft beers, cotton candy and fried everything — what’s not to like?
Commentary: Protecting your neighbors, employees and business
As far as we know, vulnerable Sonoma County residents living in Cloverdale, Geyserville, Windsor and Healdsburg have not been detained by ICE or DHS; however, the threat and fear are real. Many immigrants all over California have been picked up and detained by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
