Our Lady of Guadalupe game of the week

The Our Lady of Guadalupe 8th grade boys Division 1 team held on for a 57-46 win over St. Mary’s in this week’s OLG Catholic Youth Organization game of the week. Coach Kim Batchelder’s team led by 18 going into the final period. St. Mary’s full court press was effective and pulled the Ukiah team to within five points but the locals held on to stay atop the standings at 3-0.

Dayton sinks it in one shot two times

On July 26, Lillie Dayton was playing in the Junior PGA Tour at Fountaingrove when she shot her first hole-in-one. On Aug. 8, she was playing the Junior PGA at Bennett Valley and shot her second hole-in-one. Unbelievable it may seem, but her mother Lisa confirmed there was a group of witnesses, Lillie’s dad included, that saw both shots.

It was a great day for West County high school athletes at the North Coast Section Redwood Empire Qualifier meet hosted by Santa Rosa High School on May 19, as El Molino and Analy combined to qualify a dozen athletes to the Meet of Champions (MOC).

El Mo mountain bike team takes second at state meet

A watershed year doesn’t begin to describe the 2018 season for the El Molino mountain bike team, following a tremendous performance at the high school state championship.
