By halftime Tuesday night the Healdsburg Greyhounds basketball team seemed to have things well in hand. After a relatively quiet first period that ended 7-6 to the home team’s advantage, the Lady Greys exploded for 19 points in the second quarter, doing what they do best with a smothering defense and rapid, accurate shooting from inside the key—and beyond the arc. Then it turned around.
Lady Hounds beat Kelseyville for first season win
It may have taken the Healdsburg High School varsity softball team four preseason games, but all was forgiven on March 8 when the Lady Greyhounds notched their first win of the spring campaign, routing the visiting Kelseyville Knights, 16-11.
NCS title within reach for revived Lady Hounds
The Healdsburg girls basketball team is on the verge of a benchmark of success that has eluded them for decades. Depending on the results of the Tuesday night game against Division 5 North Coast Section championship series, the Hounds could end up in the upcoming final match.
