Things did not go as scripted in the Greyhounds’ home football finale on Oct. 29 against visiting St. Vincent, as the Mustangs scored in nearly every conceivable fashion to spoil Healdsburg’s Senior Night en route to a 48-8 romp.

Defending NCL-1 co-champions ready for another run

This year locals are proud to find both boys and girls soccer teams in the NCS playoff, both in Division 4 in line with their size. And the girls basketball team is in the playoffs as well, in the tougher Division 2. (Unfortunately, all three teams lost on Wednesday night, so Healdsburg High's winter sports season is officially over.)

FORESTVILLE - The annual “Apple Match” between rivals El Molino and Analy  lived up to all advanced billing on Jan. 20, as the teams waged a great battle that wasn’t decided until the final match.

Healdsburg’s thrilling victory in the NCS Division 5 championship series, which culminated on Saturday night at Cardinal Newman gym in a sold 47-35 win over San Dominico, was long overdue: about 35 years overdue.

There’s certainly talent on the Healdsburg varsity baseball team, and hustle and confidence. Though their record this season is a modest 11-11, 4-7 in the North Bay Redwood league, their scorecard is overflowing with big-run victories over like-sized opponents, those in Division 4.
