It was a perfect day for baseball on Saturday, March 30, as Sebastopol and El Molino Little Leagues signaled the start of the 2019 season with Opening Day ceremonies.

The Lady Tigers took another huge step toward a Sonoma County League title repeat last week, combining a relentless offensive attack with a stingy defensive effort to post shutout victories over Petaluma and Elsie Allen.

The Healdsburg Fall Youth Soccer League registration will open on Monday, May 10. Registrations received before June 15 will receive a 10 percent discount. The defending league and North Coast Section softball champion Eagles stayed perfect on the young season this week, posting recent wins over Credo, 9-0, and Clear Lake, 3-1.

The Tigers refused to relinquish West County high school bragging rights in the second of two meetings with El Molino on April 26, easily defeating the visiting Lions 11-1 in five innings.

"Our last event as a team will be a team dinner May 22 at the local Healdsburg Bollywood restaurant," said Stan Bischof. "Since we have many seniors, next year will be a recruiting year. I will host open badminton sessions at Healdsburg High for current and incoming students who are perhaps interested in badminton."
