El Mo boys turn back Analy, 2-1 on NBL soccer pitch

The El Molino Lions boys squad took round one for west county soccer bragging rights on Jan. 14, slipping past arch rival Analy, 2-1 in a surprising upset win. The victory over the Tigers was the first in years for the Lions, making first half goals from Zack Strehlow and Cole Van Stone stand up for the win. Also turning in solid games were Lions defenders Jacob Cibrian and Indigo LaMere and midfielders Ryan Palmer and Jesse Gonzales.

El Molino and Analy wrestlers continued their quest for peak performance with a busy stretch in high school competition, hitting the mat in both North Bay League dual meet and tournament matches.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church’s Catholic Youth Organization basketball game of the week

This week the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church’s Catholic Youth Organization game of the week was an exciting 43-42 victory over St. Eugene of Santa Rosa. Coach Scotty Kelsay’s 7th grade boys team was down 31-25 entering the fourth quarter. It looked like an OLG loss until Nathan Solomon hit a 35-foot three pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime knotted at 37.
