As we near the end of another year, it's only fitting that we look back and pay tribute to some of the best moments in local sports.

It’s been years since the El Molino boys soccer team posted a winning record, but all signs are pointing in the right direction for the Lions this year. Head coach Dave Rosales is back after guiding the team to a 4-11-2 overall record last season, but with nine varsity returnees, the Lions are a good bet to double that win mark this year.

The Analy Tigers pushed their season record to 6-1 in a Dec. 14 varsity soccer visit to Healdsburg, employing a stingy defense and a formidable offensive attack to shut out the Greyhounds, 5-0.

The Lady Tigers are off to a strong start on the preseason high school soccer campaign, playing the first five matches with a record of 2-1-2.

The Analy and El Molino varsity basketball teams suffered a similar fate in a pair of high school tournaments on Dec. 12-14, each claiming one win in three games.

The Lady Lions and Tigers continued to tear it up on the high school hardcourt this week, both claiming big wins in preseason and tournament action. 

It’s been more than two decades since Cloverdale High School fielded a wrestling team, but with a talented squad and renewed excitement, the program is flourishing once again.

The Lady Eagles are hitting their midseason stride this week after claiming two wins in three outings at the 71st annual Redwood Empire Invitational Basketball Tournament (REIBT) in Healdsburg.

The varsity basketball Eagles staged a hoops party with seven teams invited on Dec. 12 to 14 at the 54th annual John McMillan Holiday Classic Tournament, then decided they might as well take home the first place trophy in winning all three games.

Soccer season is in full swing for the Windsor High School varsity boys squad, starting the season hopeful of a winning record and an eventual trip to the North Coast Section playoffs.
