Windsor High School varsity athletes were well represented on spring All North Bay League teams as voted on by coaches, with a total of two dozen players honored in their respective sports.

The varsity baseball Eagles felt the heartbreak of a season-ending defeat on May 17 in the quarterfinals of the North Coast Section Division 5 playoffs, falling to No. 1 seeded Berean Christian, 3-1.

The Eagles suffered their first defeat of the 2019 campaign on Friday in the quarterfinals of the North Coast Section Division 4 softball playoffs, falling in an upset to No. 8 seeded Saint Mary’s, 6-1 at Daly Field.

The El Molino baseball squad suffered a crushing blow on Monday afternoon in a 12-inning marathon in the North Coast Section Division 4 opener at No. 5-seeded Fort Bragg, as the Timberwolves’ Andrew Johnston connected on a solo walk-off home run to lift his team to a 2-1 victory.

The North Coast Section playoffs are a contrast between elation and disappointment, with the specter of a season-ending loss serving as a strong motivator for competing teams.

A pair of local high school athletes achieved a season-long goal on Saturday, punching their tickets to the prestigious CIF State Track & Field Championships at Buchanan High School in Clovis on May 24 and 25.

On May 11 the Windsor Junior Golf Team launched the 2019 season with a North Bay Junior Golf League Qualifying event.
