The Lady Eagles volleyball squad evened its league record to 4-4 with an electrifying win over visiting Clear Lake in five sets; 25-20, 19-25, 27-29, 25-16, 15-13.

For the seventh time in eight years, young wrestlers traveled to Healdsburg last week to sharpen skills, compare notes and share their enthusiasm for the sport in the Drew Esquivel Memorial Wrestling Camp, held June 12-14 on the Healdsburg High campus.

Great weather and outstanding performances were the rule on Saturday, Apr. 5 as the Running Eagles traveled to Sebastopol for the annual Chip Castleberry Invitational Track Meet hosted by Analy.  

As students return to Healdsburg High School this week, five sports programs including football for the boys, and volleyball for the girls, and others as well covered sports including cross country, golf and tennis...

Healdsburg’s cross country program is historically strong, but this year’s runners have set a high bar even for Greyhounds. At the North Bay League Championships meet last weekend, on Nov. 8, three of the top four finishers in the boys varsity, and five of the top 10, represented Healdsburg.

It’s been a strong showing under first-year coach Cassidy Jourdan, who herself was a Healdsburg High star athlete—not only in basketball but volleyball and softball as well during her four years at HHS, from 2008–2012. “I loved sports,” she said. “I loved them all. I even went to college for sports management. It really was my entire life.”

Healdsburg girls basketball team won a close game against Windsor, with Hailey Webb passing the milestone of 1,000 career points while Allie Espinoza led the team with 19 points.

The graduating class of student/athletes of 2014 from Cloverdale High School will be remembered for their many accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom.  

"Our last event as a team will be a team dinner May 22 at the local Healdsburg Bollywood restaurant," said Stan Bischof. "Since we have many seniors, next year will be a recruiting year. I will host open badminton sessions at Healdsburg High for current and incoming students who are perhaps interested in badminton."

The varsity softball Eagles received some well-earned recognition following a championship season this month when coaches gathered to cast their ballots in All-League voting.
